When the process isn't written down yet. Automating a process nobody has agreed on just makes the disagreement faster. That's a fortnight of writing it down, not a project.
When it happens twice a month. Automation earns its keep on volume. If a person does it occasionally and it takes ten minutes, £5,000 will never pay that back.
When being wrong is expensive and nobody's checking. Anything generating text or making a judgement needs a human in the loop where the cost of a mistake is real. We'll build that in — and if it makes the automation pointless, that's the answer.
