Your regulars shouldn't cost you a third of the bill
Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat charge most independents between 25% and 35% of every order. On a 15% margin that isn't a marketing cost — it's most of your profit. Take the orders through your own site instead, keep the customer, and pay us a fraction of it.
What is it actually costing you?
Put your own numbers in. We've left VAT on their commission out of the sum, because you reclaim it — the honest figure is persuasive enough.
Your numbers
Rough is fine. Nudge the sliders until they look like a normal month.
Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat are typically 25–35% for full-service delivery, 14–16% if you use your own drivers.
That's £31,152 a year — or £30,803 in your first year, after the £349 setup.

Card processing is Stripe's standard UK rate, passed through at cost — we never mark it up. The marketplace figure excludes VAT on their commission, which you reclaim if you're VAT-registered. It also excludes the delivery and service fees they add to your customer's bill.

You don't have to keep the whole saving. Give 10% back and you still keep £4.05a head more than the marketplace paid you — and now there's a reason to order direct that isn't “please do me a favour”.
The same £25 order, three ways
| On the app at 30% | Direct, full price | Direct, 10% off | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer pays for the food | £25.00 | £25.00 | £22.50 |
| …plus their service & delivery fees | £3–5 | None | None |
| Your costs | £7.50 | £1.01 | £0.95 |
| You keep | £17.50 | £23.99 | £21.55 |
10% off everything, direct only
Simple enough to print on a card and drop in every bag. Beats the app on price every single time.
Free delivery over £20
Very visible, and it nudges the basket up. The apps charge for it — you don't have to.
£5 off your first direct order
Costs you once. Moves a regular across permanently.
Or keep the price and improve the food
Bigger portions, better packaging, a free can with every large order. Harder to compare on price, and it doesn't train people to wait for a discount.
One caveat worth knowing: check your marketplace agreement before you put your appprices up to fund this. Several of them expect price parity. Discounting your own channel is the safe direction — you're not raising anything, you're passing on a saving you genuinely made.
About two hours of your time
Nearly all the setup is ours to do. Here's the part that needs you — and it really is only these four things.
Send us a photo of your menu
We read it, build it, and send it back for you to check. No typing hundreds of items into a spreadsheet — that job is ours, not yours.
Connect your bank
A short Stripe form — your business details and account number. Payments land in your own account, in your own name, on your own payout schedule.
Point your domain at it
One DNS record and orders come in at order.yourplace.co.uk. Or skip it and use the address we give you — either works from day one.
Put the app on a tablet
Add it to the home screen and stand it by the pass. New orders make a noise until somebody accepts them.
We're onboarding our first restaurants right now, so plan on two to three weeks from the first conversation to your first order. Some of that is Stripe's identity checks, which are outside anybody's control. The rest is us doing things carefully the first time that will be routine by the tenth.
What you get for being early is a level of attention nobody gets later. We build your menu ourselves, we're there for your first service, and things change because you asked rather than because they were on a roadmap.
If you've got a date you need to hit, say so on the call and we'll tell you straight whether we can meet it. We'd rather lose the job than miss a launch you've already told your customers about.
Everyone sees only their own job
One login each, and the screen is the job. If you're a one-person operation, sign in as admin and you get the lot.
Admin
The owner or manager. Opening hours, delivery radius, prices, staff accounts and payment settings. The only role that can touch money.
Kitchen
Whoever is on the pass. Accepts orders and sets a time, marks food ready, and can take an item off the menu the moment it runs out — without being able to change a price.
Driver
Picked up, on the way, delivered. Shares live location while a run is on, and stops the moment it's dropped.
Pricing
Whichever plan you're on, card processing is Stripe's rate passed through at cost. We don't mark it up and we don't hide it inside a headline percentage.

Setup is a one-off — we build your menu from a photo, get you onto Stripe, sort the domain and certificate, set your staff up and stand behind you for the first service. After that there's no minimum term and no exit fee. Prices exclude VAT. Move between plans whenever your volume changes — the calculator above will tell you when it's worth it.
On your domain, or on ours
On Starter your ordering site lives at yourplace.order.porkenpence.com. It works immediately, there's nothing to configure, and you can link to it from the site you already have.
From Growth up you point one CNAME record at us and it becomes order.yourplace.co.uk, with your own certificate. Your existing website stays exactly where it is — nothing moves, nothing breaks, and we'll do the DNS bit with you on the phone if you'd rather not.
Either way the customer list is yours, exportable, and never shared with another restaurant.
