Chester pubs, bars, cafés and takeaways

A one-page website for your venue, built from what people already search for

Your menu as text, your hours, your phone number and directions, on your own web address. Live in two days from a photo of the menu.

The first 5 Chester venues get theirs built for nothing. If Rob has been in and left you a sheet, the code on it shows you what people search for you, and it is your claim.

Why a page of your own, and why one page

We run Out In Chester, a free guide to over 300 of the city's pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants. When a venue has no website, our page for it is what Google shows, and it only has what we could find: no menu, no photos, no offer you're running this week. This is the page those searchers were looking for.

Google can't read a photo of a menu

A third of everything people search for on Out In Chester is a venue's name plus "menu". A menu posted as a picture on Facebook is invisible to that search. On this page it is text with prices, so "your name + menu" finds you.

Facebook and Instagram don't rank for it

They rank for your name and little else, and many people can't see them without logging in. Someone searching "opening times" at 9pm gets a third party's page, or nothing.

Delivery apps rank, and take commission

Just Eat and Deliveroo pages do well in search, and every order through them costs you a cut. Your own page sends people to your door or your phone.

What it looks like

This is The Example Arms, a pub that doesn't exist, built exactly the way yours would be. Menu, hours, deals, photos, phone, directions. Nothing to scroll past to get to the thing you came for.

  • Your menu as text with prices, in your own sections
  • Opening hours, with "open now" worked out live from Chester time
  • This week's deals and events
  • Tap-to-call, directions, photos
  • Your own domain, or a page on porkenpence.com until you want one
  • Google's business data built in, so Maps and Search read it
  • A link from your Out In Chester page, which already ranks
  • A few kilobytes, no app, nothing to break, instant on a phone

Why 5 are free

Because we're new, and we need examples

Porkenpence is a year-old Chester business. We've built the biggest independent guide to the city's pubs and bars, and not yet a site for a single venue in it. So the first 5 venues get theirs built for nothing, and keep it.

The trade is a Google review when it's live, a small “website by Porkenpence” line at the bottom of the page, and a picture of it in our portfolio. That's it. Nothing to pay, nothing to sign.

Free

The first 5, with a code from Rob. Yours to keep.

£39/mo

After the five. Nothing up front, cancel any time.

£499 once

Or own it outright and host it anywhere.

What we need from you

  • A photo of your menu, or the menu itself
  • Your opening hours, day by day
  • Three pictures: the front, the inside, one dish or drink
  • A phone number, and any deal you run
  • Optional: a domain name, or we register one for about £10 a year

Keeping it up to date

There's no admin panel to learn. New prices, a change of hours, a deal for the weekend: message or email Rob and it's live the same day. We check in once a month. We never show hours we haven't confirmed with you, so a day you haven't told us about says “hours not confirmed” rather than a guess.

See what people search for you, then claim your build

Enter the code from your sheet. It looks like CHESTER5. It shows you how often your Out In Chester page came up in Google and what people typed, then Rob calls to arrange the menu, hours and photos.

It's on the sheet Rob left. No sheet? Message him and he'll give you one.

Nothing to pay now, nothing to sign. Company No. 16820657.

No code? Not in Chester? Get in touch and we'll quote it at £39/mo or £499 once.
