Not a franchise. Not a side hustle. Just a small, qualified team of dog-obsessed people who traded office life for muddy boots, Cheshire woodland, and the best job in the world.
Fully insured • DBS checked • First aid certified • Walking Chester’s countryside since 2018
In 2018, Sarah was sitting in an office in Chester city centre, counting down the hours until she could get home to walk her rescue spaniel, Pepper. One lunchtime she thought: “What if I just… didn’t come back?”
Two weeks’ notice later, Muddy Paws Chester was born. It started with Sarah, a lead, and a pocket full of treats — walking three dogs for neighbours who’d seen her with Pepper and asked if she’d take theirs too.
Eight years on, we’re a team of three covering all of Chester and the surrounding Cheshire villages. We’ve walked over 300 dogs, covered thousands of miles of countryside, and gone through an embarrassing number of pairs of wellies.
But the bit that matters hasn’t changed: every single dog gets treated like our own. Because that’s the whole point.
Dogs don’t care about deadlines, emails, or what happened at work. They care about puddles, sticks, and that incredible smell three fields away. When you walk a dog properly — not a quick lap of the block, but a real walk — you see them come alive.
That’s what we give them. Every walk is tailored to the dog. Nervous rescues get quiet routes and gentle encouragement. High-energy breeds get muddy trails and streams to jump in. Sociable pups get group walks with friends they know by name.
We don’t walk dogs on pavements for twenty minutes and call it a service. We take them to Delamere Forest, along the River Dee, through Eccleston Meadows, and up Helsby Hill. Cheshire has some of the most beautiful countryside in England, and your dog should be out in it — not staring at the wall until you get home from work.
These are the moments we live for — and the ones we send to you every day.
The same friendly faces every walk. No strangers, no rotation — your dog knows who’s coming.
Founder & Lead Walker
Left a desk job in 2018 to follow her heart — and about 300 dogs. Sarah holds a Level 3 in Animal Care, canine first aid certification, and has completed the IMDT Professional Dog Walking course. She lives in Hoole with her rescue spaniel, Pepper.
Senior Dog Walker
Former countryside ranger turned dog walker. Jake knows every trail, bridleway, and hidden swimming spot in Cheshire. He specialises in high-energy breeds and adventure walks. His own dog, a collie called Scout, often tags along.
Dog Walker & Pet Sitter
Megan joined in 2022 after volunteering at a local rescue centre for three years. She's brilliant with nervous dogs and puppies — patient, calm, and endlessly gentle. She handles most of our puppy visits and overnight stays.
We rotate routes to keep things interesting. Every dog gets variety — not the same lap of the same park every day.
Ancient woodland with miles of trails, streams to splash in, and that incredible pine smell. Our go-to for adventure walks.
Right on the River Dee with wide open fields for zoomies. Perfect for sociable group walks and ball-obsessed dogs.
Stunning views over the Mersey and beyond. A proper workout for active breeds who need to burn off energy.
Quiet riverside paths and wildflower meadows. Lovely for gentle dogs, older dogs, or those building confidence on the lead.
Rolling Cheshire farmland with castle views. Longer route ideal for Labradors, spaniels, and any breed that lives for a proper hike.
Beautiful Victorian park in the heart of Chester. Great for lead walks, puppy socialisation, and quick lunchtime strolls.

Real reviews from real dog owners across Chester and Cheshire.
“Bella used to howl the house down when we left for work. Since starting with Sarah, she gets SO excited when she hears the van. The daily photo updates are the highlight of my lunch break. She comes back tired, happy, and smelling of the countryside.”
“Duke needs serious exercise — he's a big, energetic Lab who'd run all day if you let him. Jake takes him on the adventure walks and they cover 6-7 miles through Delamere. He comes home, drinks half the water bowl, and sleeps for hours. Exactly what he needs.”
“We were nervous about leaving Milo overnight for the first time, but Megan sent us photos all evening — him on the sofa, him in the garden, him fast asleep on her bed. When we picked him up he didn't want to leave! We've booked her for every holiday since.”
“Rosie is a nervous rescue who took months to trust us. Sarah spent three visits just sitting on our floor letting Rosie come to her. No rush, no pressure. Now Rosie runs to the door when Sarah arrives. That patience and understanding means the world to us.”
“I work shifts so I need flexibility — sometimes it's a morning walk, sometimes afternoon. They never make me feel like a hassle. The GPS tracking is great too, I can see exactly where Bear's been. Always the scenic route!”
“Having two terriers is… a lot. They're into everything. But the team handles them brilliantly on the group walks — they come back knackered and muddy, which is exactly how a terrier should be. The multi-dog discount is a nice touch too.”
Every dog starts with a free meet-and-greet. We’ll come to your home, say hello to your dog, answer your questions, and make sure everyone’s happy before the first walk.
No pressure, no commitment — just an introduction.
